Marietta's attempt to become a beauty guru ;)
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Rena and I went to Spitalfields Market. Although I have been living in London for 13 years, I've never been there...and my jaw dropped!
It is a huge indoors market, with fabulous shops and with hundreds of stalls with very, very desireable things!
We spent time looking around, finding exquisite clothing items, unique jewellery and fabulous accessories. All in very good prices, since Sundays are the New Designers day.
At some point, we passed a stall with hundreds of bags; small, large, clutches, totes, wallets...you name it!
And there it was: the bag I was looking for! The bag I couldn't find in any shops I've been looking for the past 3 months.
I have a black tote for winter to carry with me at work, and that can take all my necessities for the day, most importantly, my huge make up bag! I was looking for a similar one for the summer, with a nice summery colour. And there it was.
The bag was right, the price was right, so you can imagine my excitement when I bought it.
One of my best buys ever! I took it to work the next day, to hear the (expected) oohs and aaahs by my colleagues and since then, it has become an indispensible part of my day.
Here is a video, where I show it off!
The prodigal daughter returns....
I'm sorry I didn't post for so long, it has been MAD and I know I promised I'll post links for the May favourites, but here's the thing:
Having to find the links for all the products, was quite time consuming and I had to open so many different tabs, go back and forth, look around for the best link etc. and so it was putting me off a little. Lazy! I know. However, instead of being fun and loving it, making a video and having to search for the links was becoming a chore. Therefore I decided just to post the names of the products - only post some links if there is a deal or for something special - and thank God for Google (and other search engines) you can always write the name of the product and you will be guided to the relevant website, wherever in the world you are. After all, I was only posting links for the UK, so why limit it into one country?
Who knows, maybe in the future, if my subscribers and my readers increase and there would be a demand for links, I will go back to posting them again....
So here are my June favourites:
- Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Natural Bronze Body Lotion - Gradual Tanning Moisturizer
- L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Dry Mist For Face (Light Tan)
- BM Beauty Mineral Bronzer in Summer Warmth (from this month's Glossybox)
- Korres Botanically Coated Blush in number 15 Natural
- Sleek Blusher in number 933 Coral
As you may have read in an older blogpost I was taking about the beautiful coral nail polish that I fell in love with, by watching this video by SWalkerMakeUp (love her!) back at the end of January.
Every month I would say "Next month I'm buying the Ciaté Mistress" and every month I failed to do so :(
Call it different priorities, forgetfulness, too much analysing things, being bored to wait for the package to come in the post (you can only order it online), not finding anything else to buy from the website (I was ashamed to order just one product) and so many other things that prevented me buying it... Silly me!
To motivate me, I even put it on my BlackBerry as a wallpaper (we are either obsessed with make up, or we're not! LOL)
It took me nearly four months until finally, May comes and I make the big decision to place the order for Ciaté Mistress and an Urban Decay 24/7 liquid eyeliner and then....just wait.
It took BeautyBay a WHOLE WEEK to deliver the package. A whole week!!! I started to worry a bit...But when they did, the satisfaction and surprise paid off!
First of all the packaging was incredible! I have never seen anything packaged so carefully. With tons of bubble wrap and each product carefully wrapped individually in green polysterene sheets, it's a pity I didn't take a picture of it to show you what great care this company took for the safety of my purchases!
The UB eyeliner is quite good - although I do prefer my Avon SuperShock eyeliner (wait for May favourites!)
But the Ciaté Mistress Paint Pot is the BEST!!! First of all, the bottle is the most beautiful bottle, with the Ciaté characteristic black bow on it. It's just a gem to have on your dressing table.
The colour is simply amazing and no photo can do it justice of how it really looks on the nails. A bright, red, shiny, gorgeous coral with hints of pink or a bit of orange, depending on the light. Just incredible! I got lots of "Oohs!" and "Aahs!" when I appeared at work with my new nails (I followed Sara's instructions and glued on my Boots nails).

I apologise for the lack of videos and blog posts during the last month. It was a very busy month, what with my nephew coming over, me working long hours and so many other things that prevented me to dedicate time to my favourite hobby.
But the one thing that prevented me and ruined my mood completely, was the weather! Completely uninspiring, moody, dark, rainy and absolutely freezing. It's been like that for the last six weeks, just awful. Eversince I filmed my March faves, the weather changed completely - not a Spring weather at all. So it ruined my mood to film anything and also by being so busy, I didn't write on my blog either.
But that's going to change! You'll see more blog posts and more regular videos by me!!! I'm excited as I have a few things up my sleeve ;)
Anyway, here are my April favourites:
Well hello there...!
I should write more often on my blog, I know...not only when I upload a video. Ok, that's a promise.
I apologise for delaying this video. It should have been ready on Friday the 30th, but I was busy and after a long and well-deserved rest, I filmed it on Sunday. But when I tried to upload it on YouTube it was rejected as it was too big. I didn't remember that it had to be up to 15 minutes and it was 17 minutes long, quite big, but the original was 38 minutes long so even when I edited a lot out, it was still huge!!!!
But I got a few ideas on how to do it again and to make it short and snappy, so I filmed it again today!
I not only talk about the beauty products that I loved using during March, but also my favourite TV programme, which I'm sure it's the favourite of a lot of people, including Mr President himself, Barack Obama.... I'm not telling you which one, you'll have to watch the video 'till the end to see!!

Hi All,
I always wanted to try the Cleanse and Polish cleanser by Liz Earle, but as I had a No 7 £5 voucher which was going to expire soon, I went to Boots and I discovered that No 7 had just released their own Hot Cloth Cleanser, http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Beautiful-Skin-Hot-Cloth-Cleanser_1245026/, for £10 and with my voucher £5! Yaaay!! It is actually very good, it removes the makeup completely and leaves the skin smooth and refreshed.
On the video I am also using:
- Botanics Skin Brightening Toner http://www.boots.com/en/Botanics-Skin-Brightening-Toner-250ml_34095/ - and mention Botanics Brightening Skin Cleanser http://www.boots.com/en/Botanics-skin-Brightening-Cleanser-New-Improved_50728/
- Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Makeup Remover Gel http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Essentials-Cucumber-Eye-Make-Up-Remover-Gel-150ml_869638/
All of the above from Boots http://www.boots.com/
Finally, I am finishing with Bepanthol Nourishing & Reconstructive Face Cream. My mummy left that cream from the last time she was here. It is a rich, thick moisturising cream that replenishes and nourishes the skin, and the smell reminds me so much of my mummy!
I have found that it is sold mainly in greek pharmacy sites.

Here's the vid:
I just received from Amazon a tripod for my iPod (and it rhymes!)
So now, I can make videos with ease, as before I had to mount my camera on my tripod and attach my iPod with...rubber bands on the camera! (previous video of Feb favourites was filmed like this).
So today, I woke up early, made my coffee and put my iPod on my tripod - hahahaha, it cracks me up everytime I write it - and filmed a video about my favourite tools and accessories. I also thought of including a couple of things I bought for my room, like a mini haul.
I also decided (don't ask me why) to curl my hair with my Babyliss Curling Wand, which was sitting on my dresser for a while... I like the ease of use, but I think my hair needs a strong styling mousse to keep the curls, well...curly, and bouncy.
